What does Impact Lens Africa do?
Impact Lens Africa independently examines and strengthens sustainability and impact communication by looking at the relationship between organisational activity, available evidence, communication and stakeholder understanding.
How is an Impact Lens Review different from ordinary communications consulting?
An Impact Lens Review starts from a simple reality: when organisations are close to their own work, it can be difficult to see how that work looks from the outside. The Review provides an independent perspective by examining the connection between what an organisation is doing, what its evidence shows, what it communicates and, where relevant, what stakeholders understand or experience. This is where the Impact Lens differs from conventional communications consulting. Rather than starting with the question, "What should we communicate?", we first ask, "What are we seeing?" That wider view can reveal strengths, gaps, overlooked stories and differences in perspective that may not be immediately visible from within the organisation. The resulting insight can then inform stronger communication, stakeholder engagement and strategic decision-making.
Do you verify whether an organisation's impact claims are true?
Our core service is not an audit or formal assurance function. We examine whether communication is appropriately supported by the evidence made available within the agreed scope, and identify areas requiring greater clarity, context or specialist verification.
Is Impact Lens Africa an ESG consultancy?
ESG communication is one application of our work, particularly for private-sector clients. We do not position ourselves as a technical ESG audit, certification or financial assurance practice.
Do you work only in Africa?
No. Impact Lens Africa is Africa-rooted and globally oriented. We work across African and international contexts.
Can you conduct stakeholder research?
Yes. Depending on the assignment, this may include targeted interviews, focus groups, perception surveys, consultations and facilitated listening.
Can you help implement recommendations after a review?
Yes. Strategic communication and editorial support can be commissioned following a review where the organisation would like help translating findings into action.
Can you write reports and publications?
Yes. Our editorial and thought-leadership work includes reports, briefs, articles, knowledge products, executive communication and other substantive publications.
Do you provide formal assurance?
No. Impact Lens Africa's core work should not be interpreted as financial audit, legal review, certification or formal sustainability assurance. Where an assignment requires specialist expertise outside our core capability, appropriately qualified technical partners may be engaged.
